Curriculum Design & Instructional Frameworks
Developed a comprehensive language allocation structure to support bilingual and dual language programs.
Designed teacher-friendly Language Arts curriculum maps to align with foundational, reading, and writing standards, ensuring effective cross-language instructional planning.
Created a Spanish Language Arts (SLA) and English Language Development (ELD) curriculum framework aligned to Illinois SLA Writing Standards and WIDA ELD Standards.
Facilitated middle school dual language teacher teams in developing Spanish Language Arts curriculum aligned with district English Language Arts goals.
Designed Spanish language proficiency indicators and growth targets for dual language programs to monitor language development and support parent communication.
Professional Learning & Coaching
Delivered professional learning series on effective writing instruction for multilingual learners, aligned to the 2020 WIDA ELD Standards.
Facilitated professional learning sessions for general education teachers on supporting newcomers and building academic language across content areas.
Provided targeted training for educators on Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) writing expectations and strategies to boost student achievement.
Coached instructional staff in classroom-based assessment of language and literacy.
Provided leadership coaching for district and school administrators to enhance multilingual program implementation.
Systems Development & Program Evaluation
Authored a district-wide Multilingual Learner Program Handbook in collaboration with multilingual leaders and stakeholders. The handbook includes instructional frameworks, entry/exit criteria, and assessment guidelines.
Co-developed an instructional framework for multilingual resource teachers, including grade-level recommendations and administrative scheduling support.
Conducted a district-wide English Learner (EL) Program Review with leadership, resulting in a prioritized action plan, goals, and implementation roadmap.
Family & Community Engagement
Facilitated Bilingual Parent Advisory Council (BPAC) learning sessions in both Spanish and English to empower families and strengthen school-community partnerships.
Led stakeholder engagement sessions to support the expansion of a dual language program into middle school.
